FAQs

Today I’m going to give you the nitty gritty details regarding how to register, what to expect, and try to answer any questions you may have so you can dive right in and register.

What age child(ren) can participate?

The great thing about Summer Fun Camp 2013 is the fact that all of the crafts and activities can be adapted to any age child.  Some of our Camp Counselors have tiny little hands helping them out, while others, like myself, have older children.  This is meant to be family-friendly, so if a craft or activity seems too daunting for your small child, you step in and help!  If your older child wants to be more independent, you can still do these crafts and activities together, but perhaps you each make your own!
What supplies do I need in order to participate?
All of the Camp Counselors will do their best to put together a supply list for each week.  We will send this information out to you about a week prior to each camp’s kickoff.  You will receive an email notification when the list has been posted in your camp blog.
The goal of Summer Fun Camp 2013 is to make it practical and inexpensive, so supplies will most likely be items you already have around your home, or can easily pick up from your local craft store.
Reader question:  I work full-time and spend an hour driving home each night.  Will the daily crafts and activities be something we can do after I get home in the evening or will they be too involved?

I, too, work full-time and usually don’t get home until around 6:00pm during the week.  I’ll be doing the daily crafts and activities with my own daughter in the evenings.  My goal for Summer Fun Camp is to inspire you and your child, spark creativity at home, and create memories that you will cherish.  You don’t need to have any elaborate crafts or activities to accomplish this.
Each week, you will be able to choose what you do, and adapt each craft and activity to suit your lifestyle.  Maybe you can do the craft each day, then choose a few of the activities to do over the weekend.  Since the blogs for each week of camp will remain open long after camp is over, you will still be able to access the blog posts full of craft tutorials and activities whenever you need them.
